Career Coach and Leadership Consultant Helps Clients Achieve Goals and Overcome Conflict with Help from Intelligent Office.
Jacqueline Curvan is the President of United World Solutions, an Atlanta-based company specializing in life and career coaching, leadership training and conflict resolution.
Jackie has spent her entire 21 year career in employee and labor relations but it was in 2005 when she realized that as much as she loved her career, there was still something missing.
“I found the work that brought me the most passion was helping people realize their destiny and life purpose as well as helping them remove the conflict in their lives,” explains Curvan. “Conflict in teams damage relationships and limits productivity. Coaching provides focus and clarity so that teams work more effectively.”
As a career problem solver, Jackie knew she could help and this recognition was all the impetus she needed to convince her to start her own life and career coaching firm for individuals as well businesses.
Today she enjoys helping people find and stay on course. “Through my coaching services, I can help people reach the destinations in life that they were intended to reach so that they can lead the careers and lives that they love.”
The downturn in the economy has brought about rapid changes in organizations as they downsize but often there is no plan for what to do next to rebuild. As a result, many businesses are in turmoil as surviving staff are left without clear focus and direction. Companies look to Curvan for help with training and team coaching to help people who are left find focus and fully utilize their skills to meet important business goals.
In some cases businesses are left with conflicts and escalated issues that need to be resolved to avoid legal exposure. As a mediator, registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, Jackie is practiced at resolving conflict and helping her clients learn to do the same.
Displaced or dissatisfied individuals may take advantage of the individual coaching services delivered through Curvan’s OnCourse© Coaching program. She utilizes a unique philosophical and spiritual approach to work with clients and incorporates conflict management tools; an approach that is somewhat different than other professionals in her industry but stems from her experiences as a mediator.
“Very often, when people are off course and dissatisfied with their life or career, they do not lead healthy lifestyles; which compounds the problem,” explains Curvan, so in her role as career and life coach she works with them to improve their professional satisfaction by improving their personal situation, too. She employs a 12 step process, developed by the California-based, Life Purpose Institute, where she was trained, to help clients re-gain focus and clarity.
Jackie is quick to point out the difference between professional coaching and counseling, explaining that counseling is about looking at the past and dealing with deep emotional issues while coaching is future focused; looking at where a person is now and developing plans for the future. In addition, people may become dependent on counseling whereas her goal is to create people who are empowered by her services get to get and stay on course.
“My job is to help people create personalized tools and resources so that after finding their course , they have the tools necessary to stay on course when they are hit with roadblocks without the need to return to coaching,” continues Curvan.
One of the tools that she needed early in the development of her business was a professional presence that would help her compete with larger businesses without having to be one.
“It was important to me at the time I was first opening my doors to have a corporate image that would allow me to be taken seriously by the level of senior executives that I was approaching,” states Curvan.
Today Jackie continues to take advantage of Intelligent Office, where on-demand office space available in a variety of sizes and locations augments her home office and provides a professional location for training groups as well as individual coaching sessions.
