Kelly Holdings Finds Real Opportunities in Real Estate Investments Despite the Economy, With a Little Help from Intelligent Office
When MARTA was liquidating properties in 2000, Michael Kelly was able to acquire a few pieces at a great price then turn a significant profit. At the time he already owned a few rental properties. That is when he awakened to the idea that real estate investing might be a good field.
“I was sort of already in [the real estate investment business] before I realized what I was doing,” confesses Kelly.
Kelly Holdings and Real Estate Investment Group, LLC was born in 2002 and the business has quickly developed a diverse portfolio with no single focus.
“We still own rental homes but we’re also looking into international real estate investments including Nigerian Coastal Properties where the exchange rate is very strong,” he explains.
Stateside Kelly is in the process of purchasing and constructing several multifamily units. He has just received approval for the development of a subdivision in the state of Virginia. He’s also keeping busy as the sponsor of a nonprofit called Changing Faces and Places in the Community (www.cfpcares.com).
This service initiative brings seniors, disabled and low income tenants together in a first of its kind, three-tier community. Seniors need someone to talk to, the disabled need assistance and low wage earners need affordable housing. By placing these three groups together, they can serve the needs of each other. Kelly Holdings owns the properties and works in conjunction with the nonprofits to find the tenants.
Today Kelly boasts 12 years industry experience in everything from investing to building and developing. “I’m going through all of the processes,” he admits.
He’s also finding success in the face of an economic downturn that others haven’t figured out how to navigate. “In every down market there are up market opportunities,” Kelly explains. “Opportunities are up for real estate right now if you have the funds.”
Part of his successful business model is his new relationship with Intelligent Office. His online search for a partner to help promote his professional image led him to www.intelligentoffice.com.
“I needed a bona fide business address to present my company in a more professional manner,” continues Kelly, “and a professional location and atmosphere to have meetings with potential investors.”
Intelligent Office has given him all that plus the ability to screen calls and return them when convenient.
“If you want to grow bigger and larger, you need to make your company look as professional as possible,” concludes Kelly.
