Better Homes Realty Atlanta Helps First Time Home Buyers Maximize Options, With Help from Intelligent Office
Christine Van de Griend formed Better Homes Realty Atlanta in 2004 as a residential real estate company. Their typical clients are first time homebuyers who need help getting and financing a home.
“Our brokerage is different than some of the larger brokerage firms because of our team concept,” explains van de Griend. “We’re creating business for our agents where most agents are on their own to try and create their own marketing.”
Van de Griend credits her aggressive internet marketing activities for helping generate opportunities for her firm and her 21 agents.
“Leads flow out to the agents in the form of queries and then it is up to the agent to make contact and create a relationship to sell the house,” continues van de Griend.
In appreciation for the fact that agents need flexibility, Better Homes Realty Atlanta offers agents a choice of fee structures with different levels of support.
The Agent’s Choice fee structure allows agents to keep 100% of the commission and just pay a transaction fee for the sale. A traditional arrangement is also available where agents don’t pay transaction fees but agree to a shared commission model.
“Agent’s Choice has helped me to attract agents who are producers who want to work on their own and keep more of their income in contrast to previous arrangements where they paid a 30/70 split for a supply of signs and lock boxes,” explains van de Griend.
While a lot of agents have left the business in the current economic downtown, van de Griend notes that all of her agents have kept their license active.
“Although our agents are ready to help the first time buyers take advantage of the newly available tax incentives, we’re starting to see that some of these people are having difficulty getting financing,” states van de Griend.
This newfound problem incented van de Griend to form her latest venture, Strategic Home Capital.
“Now I can put my 25 years of mortgage experience to work helping my agents get financing for their buyers,” boasts van de Griend.
Van de Griend has been a long-standing member of the Intelligent Office family and although she has recently moved out of her permanent office space, she continues to depend on Intelligent Office for on demand conference space for closings, client and team meetings.
