For Dan Harmeyer, President of Healthy Water Solutions, making and receiving referrals is a central part of marketing his business so it was only fitting when, at the December customer appreciation and champagne tasting event; Dan was selected as the winner of Intelligent Office’s Family Fun Vacation.

Dan Harmeyer was just one of many Intelligent Office Family Members and Friends who recognized a need for professional address and/or communications services among their clients and associates in 2006 and took the time to refer them to Intelligent Office. Lucky for Dan, his name was the one randomly selected and now he will enjoy a 7-day/6-night stay at any Marriott Vacation Club property in 2007.

“I haven’t made a decision yet about where I’ll spend my vacation but Hawaii sounds good!” exclaims Dan when asked about his plans.

Selecting a destination surrounded by water seems only appropriate for a man who earns his living providing more sanitary water distribution systems for commercial offices and retailers. Healthy Water Solutions is a distributor of the H20 Evolution system, a point of use water purification system that replaces the 5-gallon water dispensers you see in many offices with a more self-sanitizing, air-tight purification system.

When asked why his system is better than the current bottled water service in your office, Dan explains “When you turn a 5-gallon bottle onto the cooler and see air going up into it, that air introduces particles of the environment into your the water. So if your cooler is sitting in a hair salon, that air could be introducing coloring chemicals and if your cooler is an automotive repair facility, then you’re basically drinking the dirt and sludge from your car.”

It doesn’t take long to see why Dan’s product and pitch are so successful. It helps that he is an avid networker and comfortable helping out friends and associates by referring them to other businesses and services. Harmeyer attends 4-5 networking events each month – including the IO monthly Networking Mixer and Wine Tasting. That and his own referral program is why he now attributes 70% of his current business to referrals.
